POWER

Both videos have been broadcast on Italian national television channels, the one on the left is from 2019, the one on the right is from 1969. In both they are talking about little girl brides. In the one on the left, the mother of the girl, who belongs to the Roma people, who got married at the age of 13 is questioned about the event, in the one on the right is the journalist Montanelli who tells of when he was in Ethiopia during the war, where "he chose a beautiful bride of 12 years old". In both there are different manifestations of power and racism at its highest level. An example of power is the one exercised, in one by the journalist and the audience of the broadcast towards the woman, and in the right one by Montanelli, a paternalistic and racist attitude towards those who, in one, try to tell their reasons and in the other towards the woman who questions Montanelli about the ethical issues of what he has just said. These attitudes are so pronounced that I think they are very visible even without audio.

Power of dominant culture. The poster at the top left says "Abortion is the leading cause of feminicide in the world". The others make puns about women's sexual availability. Is machismo an example of biopower?

The CV is something that really makes me think of power, structure, system. It is a personal statistic, graphic about who you are according to what it is required to fit in society.
